Pakistan currently has two nuclear power plants in operation: the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP) and the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant (CHASNUPP). In addition, Pakistan is currently in the process of building two more nuclear power plants: the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-3 (CHASNUPP-3) and the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-4 (CHASNUPP-4).
The CHASNUPP-3 and CHASNUPP-4 projects are being built by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) under a contract signed with Pakistan in 2015. Both plants are expected to have a total capacity of 1,100 MW, with CHASNUPP-3 expected to be completed in 2023 and CHASNUPP-4 expected to be completed in 2024.
It is worth noting that the construction of nuclear power plants can be a complex and lengthy process, and the completion dates for these projects may change over time. It is always best to check with the relevant authorities for the most up-to-date information.
